La Famille Bélier (The Bélier Family) is a 2014 French comedy-drama film directed by Éric Lartigau. The film received six nominations at the 40th César Awards, winning Most Promising Actress for Louane Emera. In the Bélier family, sixteen-year-old Paula is an indispensable interpreter for her deaf parents and brother on a daily basis, especially in the running of the family farm. One day, a music teacher discovers her gift for singing and encourages Paula to participate in a prestigious singing contest in Paris, which will secure her a good career and a college degree. However, this decision would mean leaving her family and taking her first steps towards adulthood.

Timbuktu

Timbuktu is a 2014 French-Mauritanian drama film directed by Abderrahmane Sissako. It was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or in the main competition section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. At Cannes, it won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the François Chalais Prize. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards.

Diary of A Chambermaid

Diary of a Chambermaid (French: Journal d'une femme de chambre) is a 2015 French drama film directed by Benoît Jacquot, and written by Jacquot and Hélène Zimmer. It is an adaptation of Octave Mirbeau's 1900 novel of the same name and stars Léa Seydoux as Célestine, a young and ambitious woman who works as a chambermaid for a wealthy couple in France during the early twentieth century.

Célestine, a young chambermaid who is much courted for her beauty, has just arrived to the French countryside from Paris to work for the Lanlaire family. Fending off her master's advances, Célestine also has to cope with Madame Lanlaire, who rules the household with an iron fist. There, she meets Joseph, a mysterious gardener, for whom she feels a fascination.

L'Affaire SK1

L'Affaire SK1 is a 2014 French thriller drama film directed by Frédéric Tellier. The term, "SK1", which refers to "Serial Killer 1", is a codename given by the police to the first serial killer who was identified and arrested via DNA analysis in France.The film chronicles the hunt and trial of a 1990s serial killer, dubbed "The Beast of the Bastille".
