A language placement test is used to assess a candidate’s current proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages. The results help identify the most suitable level of language training or confirm whether the candidate meets the linguistic requirements for a bilingual position within the federal public service in in each of three language skills: Reading, Writing and Oral Interaction. The proficiency levels which can be assigned to each skill are: A (beginner), B (intermediate), C (advanced).
The algorithm analyses in real-time the response pattern of the first set of questions to select the most suitable second set of questions, and so on. Thus, the test becomes progressively easier or more difficult by adapting to each user’s profile.
$30 for the whole test: Reading, Listening and Grammar & Vocabulary.
Users obtain an accurate assessment of their French language ability as soon as the test has been completed. Users can print out a summary of the test results.
You can complete the test within 45 minutes.
You just need a computer or a tablet to complete the test!
Ev@lang is a 100% online placement test for adults.
Ev@lang is based on the 6 language proficiency levels defined by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), which then allows adaptation to the levels used in the Canadian public service.
