Attila Marcel The Scapegoat Exile Nicholas on Holiday The Returned The Volcano

Attila Marcel

Paul, in his thirties, lives in Paris with his aunts, two old aristocrats who have raised him since he was two years old, and whose dream is to see him become a virtuoso pianist. Cut off from the outside world, Paul has aged without having ever lived… until the day he meets his neighbour Madame Proust. With this eccentric woman’s help, Paul will discover deeply buried memories and find the key to finally live his own life. Oscar-nominated director Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville, The Illusionist) makes his live-action debut in this effervescent, musical, candy-coloured charmer

The Scapegoat

There is something strange - some would even say abnormal - about the Malaussène family. But if you take a closer look, no one could be happier than this cheerfully chaotic family, even though their mother is usually off on one romantic adventure or another. Life is never a bore for Benjamin Malaussène, professional scapegoat and the older brother responsible for this horde of kids. But when incidents happen wherever he goes, police and colleagues begin to eye him suspiciously. It soon becomes a matter of life and death to find out what is going on and who is so interested in ruining his life.

Exile

Samuel’s peaceful life in a Haitian city is brutally disturbed by the kidnap of his journalist father by the army. Forced to flee, Samuel secretly makes his way to the United States, where he hopes to find his mother, who is presumed dead. Travelling from Miami to Montreal by way of New York, his journey is punctuated by encounters with people living on the fringes of North American society. To give meaning to his experience of the world, Samuel taps into the unconditional love he feels for a mother he has never known.

Nicholas on Holiday

It's the end of the school year and the long-awaited holidays have finally arrived. Nicholas, his parents and Granny hit the road heading for the sea, and move into the Beau-Rivage Hotel - the perfect setting for countless adventures and a holiday Nicholas will never forget.

The Returned

In an idyllic French Alpine village, a seemingly random collection of people find themselves in a state of confusion as they attempt to return to their homes. What they do not yet know is that they have been dead for several years, and no one is expecting them back. Buried secrets emerge as they grapple with this miraculous and sinister new reality, struggling to reintegrate with their families and past lovers. But it seems they are not the only ones back from the dead. What if it was only the beginning of a much more serious disruption?

The Volcano

The eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull is a real blow for travellers around the world. For Alain and Valérie, it’s a catastrophe. If they are to make it in time to the tiny Greek village where their daughter’s wedding is taking place, the two divorcees will have to swallow their pride and hit the road together.
