WHEN: JULY 12, 5 PM TO 10 PM
WHERE: Jardin des Scultpures, 219 Provencher Blvd.
For the fourth year in a row, the French community and the Alliance française du Manitoba wish to invite all Winnipeggers to
celebreate France's National Day, also known as Bastille Day.
Blues Blanc Rouge is the ideal way to mark this special day. It is a free and public event, filled with local music as well with
French wine, Manitoban cheese and crêpes from Bretagne. Thanks to the support of La Maison des Artistes Visuels Francophones and of
the 100 NONS, we plan on bringing life, culture and amusement in Saint-Boniface.
Bastille Day is celebrated by French communities around the world on July 14. In France, it is an opportunity to gather and celebrate in
"bals populaires", dance parties that often happen in firehouses open for the occasion. In cities like Toronto, Montreal,
Vancouver, New York, Sydney and London, thousands of people gather every year to mark this day. It is now Winnipeg’s turn to follow
their footsteps and give Manitoba’s diverse francophone community another reason to be proud.
This event will give Francophones and Anglophones an opportunity to reunite and celebrate Bastille Day in an original and cultural
environment. Discover French joie de vivre in an outdoor event with live music, wine and cheese!
This year, Gen + Tonic will be the ones rocking up Saint-Boniface. Formed by Geneviève and Pierre Freynet, brother and sister from an
artistic family in Québec, they created their own genre, mixing soul, blues and jazz. Geneviève's powerful voice perfectly blends with
Pierre's chords, in a captivating mixture. Later in the evening, Pierre will take over, to propose us one of his beautiful soul night.
Thank you to la Maison des artistes
visuels francophones,
le 100 Nons, Tourisme Riel,
Tourism Winnipeg, Roquette and Les Bleus de Winnipeg for
their support.
